“So, you like the Packers.” He groaned silently the moment the words were out. How lame.
She looked over then, but no more than their gazes met, she turned away again. “Yep.”
“I had no idea you were such a fan.” Just as bad, but he couldn’t seem to shut up. He swallowed his gum so he didn’t accidentally choke on it.
Allie folded her arms across her chest and lifted her chin while staring straight out the windshield. “There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”
Direct hit. He grimaced and put the truck back in drive so he could turn down her street. Despite it feeling like ninety-degrees in the truck with the heat blasting, her tone threatened to give him frostbite. And now they were at her house. He couldn’t let the night end like this, but she was already out of the truck and slammed the door before he shifted into park.
Man up!
Opening his door, he called, “Allie, wait.”
House keys in hand, she whirled on her front porch as he approached, looking smaller than ever against the large columns supporting the overhead roof. “Don’t expect me to thank you for ruining my evening, Rick, because it’s not going to happen. Now go away.”
He ruined her evening? A defensive reply formed on his tongue until he remembered he still needed to apologize for his unintended insult. Before he could come up with those more difficult words, he saw her shiver again. So he said the first thing he could think of to get both of them inside her house.
“I was going to ask if I could use your bathroom.”
She turned to insert the key into the lock and spoke over her shoulder. “Use a tree.”
He let out a disbelieving laugh. “Oh, come on. I’m not Bennie.”
She opened the door and stepped inside. She wasn’t really going to leave him outside like the Bassett hound she dog-sat every week, was she? He cocked a brow and offered a hopeful smile to counter her glare.
Her shoulders dropped, and she huffed out an annoyed breath. “Fine. Come in.”
Boy, did he have his work cut out for him.

This is a fun series to read. Each book is fairly short, so it's not a big commitment to get through them. The characters are fun and realistic, although they are not extremely complex. Due to the brevity of the story itself, the characters don't really have the time to grow into complex beings. Occasionally, I felt like there was a contrived event or two, but when you read romance fiction you are not expecting true to life situations. Anything can happen. Therefore, the contrivances were not a big problem for me. Overall, I think it's a great series.Product details

I want to stop in at Coffee to Chai For order a cup of tea and tasty treat walk across the street to check out a book from the library.
I continue down the street waving to friends and neighbors.
I stop in the park to watch the dogs and owners play and enjoy the day.
I want more! The characters have come to life. I feel as though I have expanded my family. I have so many new friends!

In Book 6 we get to know Allie Daniels. Allie only ever wanted the family to call her own. Plus also Rick Wilde who had a serious crush on Allie all through high school. Life took the 2 in different paths and he becomes the town veterinairan and happens to have a darling 3 year old son. Allie has been told she will never be able to have children so it dashes any hope of that family she dearly wants.
She finds this baby orphaned kitty and takes it to the vet office and also encounters Rick's son Lukas. She can not resist him and Rick.
Rick sees her out with a Green Bay Packer wannabee and wants to warn Allie about him. After he tries to warn her about him, she ends up leaving the bar and walking over a mile in not good weather either. Rick sees her and offers her a ride.
When he gets to her house, he asks if he can come in, but she refuses. Rick just wants to use the bathroom and he is not like the dogs she takes care of with her pet sitting business.
When she brings in the kitty Rick afterwards is called to an accident with horses that need Rick's help. She ends up babysitting Lukas while he is gone. She makes chicken pot pie and cookies with Lukas helping. She ends up reading him a bed time story even and starts to care deeply for Lukas.
This was the most moving of the Welcome to Redemption novels for me. I hated that these books were so short I wanted more. Without giving the ending away I still had hope for Allie.

Another job well done. Love just flows in Redemption. The vet, the dog walker and his son. Lots of fun , sadness, and a whole lot of Love was in this book. It's a must read.
This book is part of a series and I read each of them and just loved them and I trully wish there was more, which I've been told will be more and I for one look forward to that more. Each of the stories touch your heart, by making you cry, laugh and feel nice and warm all over.
This is a well written book and a heartwarming story. It's about a small town in Wisconsin and you soon get to know all of the characters in it. It's so much like the real towns in Wi. that you feel you are right there with them. Living in a small town now in Wi. and being from a small town in Illinois, you do get the feeling of small town life. It's nothing like life in a city.
